through Saturday evening). National Weather Service in Upton, NY will be using the call
sign K2U. This event is opened to all skywarn/amateur radio operators in the twenty
counties covered by Upton office. (ENY, NLI, NNJ and CT)

average of 12-13 check ins each week.

EDUCATION: The Tech and Extra classes will be
ready for the Oct VE session.
On Sunday Oct 20 between 10 AM and 3PM we will participate in the Boy Scout JOTA activity.
N2MUN asked for help for this event.

APPAREL: No Report
REPEATERS: The
2-meter repeater still has problems and we are waiting for new equipment to come in.
The 440 repeater is having a problem with its audio signal. The repeater keys up OK but
has low output
The 220 repeater is at Walt's house for final checkout
DX & CONTESTING: KA2D notes that the latest DX and
contest info is always presented on the Monday night net. Tom gave info on upcoming events
and contests.
VE SESSIONS: The
next session will be held on Oct 27
ARES/RACES:
4 members of TOBARES supported the Entennman’s Run which was 50% of the total
12 members of TOBARES supported the East Farmingdale Fire Dept. open house
10/27 – TOBARES hamfest at the K of C in Lindenhurst.

N2UHR reported that the 2 Meter
net is up and running with good weekly check-ins
N2NGE reported that last week the 10 Meter net had 12
check-ins
Swap n Shop – 5 stations check-in to the net If one of your items is sold please get
a hold of WA2QAV who will delete it from the net scripted and Bud will send e-mail to
N2MUN to delete from the Compass.
EDUCATION:
The technician and Extra class will be ready for
the October VE session.
This year we will be participating in the JOTA Activity on Sunday morning 10 AM to 3PM October
20.

2 meter repeater is running about the same. The new machine is in and is at Walt's house

before being put back on line. Tower status: the same , still waiting for town and cell company to agree on issues
DX &
CONTESTING: N2MUN indicated that there is always good DX before and after a contest ,

TOBARES Hamfest was held on October 28 More information will be presented at the
ARES/RACES meeting

Per Phil N2MUN the next HRU2003 meeting will be held on November 11 at 7:00PM at the EOC N2MUN informed the members that all meeting for November
will be moved up one week because of Thanksgiving
